PM Modi, while addressing his monthly radio programme Mann ki Baat, said that G20 presidency is an opportunity for the nation. He also said India achieved a feat in the space sector when a rocket ‘Vikram S’ was launched into space.

By India Today Web Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed the 95th edition of his monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’. PM Modi, in his monthly radio programme, said that India got the responsibility of G20 presidency under Amrit Kaal and it is an opportunity for us.

“People from across the country have written to me about how proud they are that India has got the G20 presidency. India has got this responsibility under Amrit Kaal,” PM Modi said.

He said, “G20 presidency is an opportunity for us. We have to focus on global good, be it peace, unity or sustainable development, India has the solution to challenges related to these things. We have given the theme of ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’.”

From December 1 this year, India will assume the G20 presidency for a year and chair over 200 meetings that aim to secure global economic growth and prosperity.

‘INDIA MUST UTILISE G20 OPPORTUNITY’

PM Modi in his monthly radio address said that India must utilise opportunity of G20 leadership by focusing on global good and welfare.

“Be it peace or unity, sensitivity towards environment or sustainable development, India has solution to all these challenges,” he said.

PM Modi also lauded ISRO’s achievements and said the nation achieved a feat in the space sector when a rocket ‘Vikram S’ was launched into space. It was designed and developed by the private sector and has several new features, the prime minister said.

“India is sharing its success in the space sector with its neighbouring countries as well. Just yesterday, India launched a satellite, which has been jointly developed by India and Bhutan.” he said. PM Modi said sky is not the limit for India’s youth and the young people of the country and thinking big and achieving big.

Vikram-S, India’s first privately-developed rocket, lifted off precisely on November 18, 2022 from Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) launchpad in Sriharikota.

“The launch mission of Vikram-S is aptly named ‘Prarambh’ – as this is the start of opening up of the space sector and creating new opportunities for the youth,” he said.

PM Modi mentioned about Konstantinos Kalaitzis, an artist from Greece, who sang Mahatma Gandhi’s favourite ‘Vaishnava Jana To’.

PM MODI ON MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY

“The world of medical science has made lot of progress with the help of research and innovation as well as state-of-the-art technology and equipment, but some diseases, even today, remain a big challenge for us. One such disease is – Muscular Dystrophy,” PM Modi said.

The prime minister appreciated the efforts of ‘Manav Mandir’ in Himachal Pradesh in spreading awareness about the disease. He also stated that India is now exporting musical instruments to US, UK among other countries.
