NEW DELHI: Hoping to repeat its massive poll victory in Karnataka where the Congress had promised to fulfill ‘5 guarantees’ if voted to power, former Congress chief Sonia Gandhi on Sunday announced similar ‘5 guarantees’ for Telangana ahead of assembly polls in the state.
“To fulfill the aspiration of the people of Telangana, we (Congress) are announcing five guarantees and we are committed to fulfilling each one of them,” Gandhi said at a public rally at Vijayabheri Sabha in Tukkuguda, Rangareddy district.
The guarantees include a Mahalaxmi scheme wherein women will be provided Rs 2,500 a month, free travel on state buses; and domestic LPG cylinder at Rs 500.
“It is my dream to see Congress government in Telangana that will work for all sections of society,” added Sonia Gandhi.
