Renowned US automaker Ford Motor today introduced the Mustang GTD, a custom-built limited-edition model, right before the Monterey Car Week in California. Mustang GTD was designed with racing in mind and is the fastest Mustang ever produced. The recently debuted Mustang is Ford’s first foray into the world of supercars with major racing abilities, and it takes design inspiration from the Mustang GT3 racing car.
Ford Mustang GTD: Appearance Details
The Ford Mustang GTD stands out among the current lineup of Mustang models because of its assertive looks. It is distinguished by its large grille and air intakes, dynamic bumper and hydraulically controlled front wings. Elements like the front splitter, expanded fenders with air vents, new side skirts, an upgraded diffuser, and a huge spoiler with a DRS system showcase the aggressiveness of its aerodynamic body kit.

Ford used a lot of carbon fibre for the Mustang GTD’s manufacturing to reduce weight. The 20-inch wheels are made of forged aluminium, and engineers have integrated a Brembo carbon-ceramic brake system. The tyres have 325 mm of tread width at the front and 345 mm at the back
Ford Mustang GTD: Interior Details
The Mustang GTD’s interior includes track-optimised Recaro seats that are offered for the driver and front passenger. Gear adjustments have been simplified by steering wheel-mounted 3D-printed titanium paddles. Although there are no seats in the back, there is space for luggage.

Ford Mustang GTD: Engine
Ford has stated that the Mustang GTD comes with a supercharged 5.2-litre V8 engine generating 800 bhp. A powerful 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox is connected to this engine. Additionally, the Mustang GTD represents the first time a road-ready Mustang has used a dry-sump engine oil system. The Ford Mustang GTD is expected to be launched for the domestic market by late 2024 or early 2025.
