AFL star Liam Ryan is being investigated by his club over shocking video footage that allegedly shows him in a street fight recently.

The clip, which appeared online on Wednesday night, allegedly shows the West Coast Eagles forward in a fistfight with another man while a crowd of onlookers yell.

The footage was reportedly taken after a recent music festival.

In it, a man in a white T-shirt who appears to be Ryan is seen trading punches with a shirtless man.

‘The West Coast Eagles are aware of an incident involving AFL player Liam Ryan in Fremantle on Wednesday evening,’ the club said in a statement on Friday.

‘Liam and his partner Evana are safe, and Liam will continue with pre-season training on Friday morning.

‘The Club is working to gather all the information, will [sic] support Liam throughout this process and will make no further comment at this time.’

The alleged incident came one day before the 28-year-old took part in the launch of the AFL’s new Indigenous All Stars jersey.

He has been selected in the Indigenous side to play the Fremantle Dockers at Perth’s Optus Stadium on February 15 in the first match featuring the all-star outfit since 2015.

The 10-year hiatus means a generation of players have missed the chance to represent the All Stars, and Ryan wants to see the concept played more often.

‘Hopefully it keeps going from now on. Not every year, but every couple [of years],’ Ryan said.

‘It would be really good for the communities around Australia.

‘I grew up watching blokes like [Adam] Goodes and Lewis Jetta, and it was my dream to play in a game like this. It means a lot.’

The bulk of the All Stars squad will be made up of fast, exciting, attacking players.

‘I think I’m going to have to play ruck,’ joked Ryan, who stands at 181cm.

‘All us Indigenous boys know offence, but we don’t know defence. It’s going to be good fun.’

Ryan lashed out at an online troll in February 2022 after they posted a vile comment on a photo of his twin boys.

The adorable photo showed his sons holding a Channel Seven microphone, and was uploaded to the network’s AFL Instagram account.

The disgraceful comment sparked a furious response from Ryan, who called out the keyboard warrior.

‘Motherf**ker, talk about my babies like this, I’ll f**king hurt ya, ya f**king maggot,’ he replied.

The comment also sparked outrage from the public, which jumped to Ryan’s defence.

‘That’s just straight up disgusting, have some respect,’ one fan wrote.

Another added: ‘Terrible comment here in reference to innocent kids’.
