The Men in Blue will play New Zealand in a three-match ODI series and three T20Is following the end of the current ODI series against Sri Lanka.
While the T20I matches will take place in Ranchi, Lucknow, and Ahmedabad on January 27, 29, and February 1, the 50-over matches between India and New Zealand will be played on January 18, 21, and 24 in Hyderabad, Raipur, and Indore, respectively.
Selection Meeting for NZ series
- Regarding Ravindra Jadeja’s injury, selectors will speak with NCA president VVS Laxman on the phone.
- If NCA gives clearance to the star all-rounder, Jadeja will come back.
- The decision to play Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in T20s will be debated by the selectors.
- Any senior player will probably not be selected for the T20 series against New Zealand.
Meet the new selectors?
- Chetan Sharma (Tests: 23, ODIs: 65)
- Shiv Sundar Das (Tests: 23, ODIs: 4, T20s: 3)
- Subroto Banerjee (Tests: 1, ODIs: 6, First Class: 59)
- Salil Ankola (Tests: 1, ODIs: 20, First Class: 54)

Sanju Samson and Jasprit Bumrah
Sanju Samson and Jasprit Bumrah both are likely to sit out of the series against Kiwis.
Kerala batter Sanju played on January 3 as a member of India’s T20I team against Sri Lanka, however he was subsequently unable to play in the following two games due to a knee injury. No information has been released regarding whether or not he will become fit enough to join the squad.
It will be intriguing to see who will join Ishan Kishan as India’s backup wicketkeeper-batter for the T20I series if Sanju is ruled out.
Jasprit Bumrah will, however, undoubtedly be absent from the entire New Zealand series. According to info available with InsideSport, Bumrah will need extra time to get healthy and will therefore be absent from the whole Black Caps tour. Not only this but Bumrah also stays doubtful for the first two Test matches of the Australia series.
