Flat-screen Galaxy S23 Ultra threatens leaker reputation as new fan-made concept renders show upcoming Samsung flagship in rumored colors

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has been rendered in its four rumored colors of phantom black, cream, green, and lavender. The well-made concept renders come courtesy of TechnizoConcept (via leaker Ahmed Qwaider), who has frequently offered up visually pleasing ideas of what the phones of the Galaxy S23 series could look like. This time around, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is dressed in the colorways that have already been mentioned in two separate leaks, with the green model shown from the front and rear.

In addition to sharing the Galaxy S23 Ultra renders, Qwaider also produced some “exclusive” information in regard to the S23 Ultra’s display: “The screen will be flat”. This is actually a considerable piece of news for Galaxy fans, and it has apparently been chosen for the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra to make it easier to use the S Pen input device. The same source continues in a separate post that “the edge will drop dramatically and the screen will feel flat”. It’s clear to see in the concept renders that there is minimal display curvature shown on the flagship smartphone.

However, it appears Ice universe has been unsettled by a couple of things shown in the images (see below). Firstly, he believes the choice of the cream color for the Galaxy S23 Ultra in the renders is off, and that it is more like ice-cream “cream” rather than beige. The leaker also calls the cream color “very advanced” and with an “excellent texture”, which has led to some serious scoffing in the comments about how a color can be advanced. More controversially, Ice universe responded to a post about the S23 Ultra flat screen with the statement, “It’s not a flat screen, it’s still curved at the edges”.

The tipster has been claiming something like this for the Galaxy S23 Ultra for a while now, explaining that although the curve of the smartphone had been reduced in comparison to the S22 Ultra, there were still slightly curved edges present. But it does seem, at least on the surface, that Qwaider believes the smartphone will have an almost completely flat screen. Of course, both leakers could be almost correct as there is some subjectivity concerning what exactly amounts to a still curvy/mostly flat description. But if the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra doesn’t come with noticeably curved edges, it may be Ice universe’s reputation as a leaker that also ends up looking flat.
