A bench of Justices BR Gavai and KV Viswanathan heard the case earlier today while Senior Advocate Mukul Rohatgi represented Kavitha.

Mukul Rohatgi pointed out that Kavitha has been jailed for the past five months and is entitled to bail. He also stated that her case is similar to that of Delhi’s Chief Minister Aravind Kejriwal and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who have been granted interim and regular bail respectively by the Supreme Court recently.

After issuing a notice to the ED and the CBI, the Supreme Court postponed the next hearing to August 20.

Kavitha was arrested by the ED on March 15th due to her alleged involvement in the Delhi Liquor Policy scam case. She was then sent to Delhi’s Tihar Jail.
