First Time, I Said Yes in a Second!

After scoring a mammoth blockbuster with Pushpa 2, Rashmika Mandanna is looking forward to her next film Chhaava with Vicky Kaushal.

The film is touted to be the next blockbuster from Bollywood. The inside reports suggest that the film has come out really well. The film is an epic historical about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s son Sambhaji Maharaj.

Rashmika Mandanna recently spoke about her unexpected casting as a Maharashtrian queen in the upcoming film Chhaava.

Rashmika said she was surprised when the filmmakers approached her for the role. She wondered how someone from the South could fit into the character of a Maharashtrian queen.

Rashmika said, “When I first heard the narration, I was stunned. I thought, ‘I’m from the South—how could they see me as a Maharashtrian queen?’ But once I heard the script, for the first time in my life I didn’t take a second to say yes.”

Rashmika also shared her experience of transforming for the role. During the look test, she was amazed at how naturally her appearance, body language, and overall style suited the character. She said it was a pleasant surprise to see herself completely fitting into the part.

She praised her co-star Vicky Kaushal for his performance, describing it as extraordinary, and expressed admiration for director Laxman Utekar’s work. Rashmika is clearly excited about the project and has high hopes for it.

Chhaava is based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, with Vicky Kaushal in the lead role. Rashmika and Akshaye Khanna play key roles in the film. Initially set to release alongside Pushpa 2, the movie’s release date was shifted to February 14, 2024, to avoid competition.
