It has been one very monotonous to see either Chennai or Mumbai as the champions of the IPL and the fact the they’ve won 10 titles till now(5 each) reinstates the same.
However, a similar trajectory was observed this year as well, considering that Mumbai Indians were in cruise control mode and looked set for a top two finish.

Had Mumbai finished in the top two positions, they would’ve gotten two bites at the finale. Stopping them at this point in time is nearly impossible, it needs to be said.
But for entertainment and excitement purpose, it is interesting to note that Mumbai was denied the top position finish. They’re confined to either third or fourth on the table.

The reason why we are saying this is a good thing is mainly due to the fact that it is time we see some other lift the IPL trophy. The best possible way to make this happen with the least possibility.
Luckily this time, Mumbai got confined to lower position finish and they will have to win 3 games consecutively to stand a chance to lift the trophy again.

This sets the stage for both Bengaluru and Punjab to potentially clinch the title for their first time in their history. It is time that either of these two teams make it happen on the big stage.
But nevertheless, it must be noted that stopping Mumbai is still going to be a challenge in itself. Either Gujarat or Bengaluru will have to take care of the same to the best of their capabilities considering their positioning on the points table.
