Then it is on to the double-header that will catch the eye, as a Neymar-less Brazil — the talismanic striker out for at least the next two games with an ankle injury — look to secure a knockout-stage spot against Switzerland in a repeat of their group meeting at Russia 2018.

FIFA World Cup results yesterday
Two giants of international football clashed at the Al Bayt Stadium yesterday, with one of them eyeing a place in the knockout stages, while the other was nervously trying to avoid a glimpse of the first flight home.

With the knockouts in sight, they blew their big chance and were second best against a Costa Rica side who showed remarkable resilience after being blown away by La Roja in their opener.
Keysher Fuller grabbed the only goal nine minutes from time to throw the group once again wide open.
In Group F, there was history for Morocco at Al Thumama Stadium as they won 2-0 against major tournament nearly-men Belgium to claim a first World Cup victory in 24 years.
The Belgians — ranked second in the world heading into this tournament — now face a battle to go through.
It was, though, the end of the road for Canada, as John Herdman’s battling North Americans could not build on the fastest goal of this World Cup so far from Alphonso Davies in the second minute and were well beaten, 4-1 by Croatia, to confirm their elimination.
