FIFA are pressing ahead with plans for next summer’s Club World Cup in the United States, with football’s world governing body set to take the significant step of announcing the venues.

Gianni Infantino will appear at the Global Citizen Festival in New York on Saturday to confirm the stadiums that will be used between June 15 to July 13 for the 32-team tournament.

Chelsea are among the clubs embracing their invite into the competition, despite complaints from elsewhere in relation to player overload.

Manchester City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are among the other European sides who have qualified.

FIFA have not yet announced any broadcast partners for the competition but confirmation of stadia is a step forward with less than nine months until it all kicks off.
