This performance, which quickly went viral, highlighted the global influence of Shah Rukh Khan, with senior Indonesian ministers participating.

This is just one of thousands of examples of how SRK continues to bring recognition to India worldwide.
Yet, despite his immense contribution to globalizing Indian culture and cinema, Shah Rukh Khan has not been conferred the Padma Bhushan.

While he was awarded the Padma Shri in 2003 by the BJP government, he has not received the Padma Bhushan during either the Congress rule or the last decade of Modi’s rule.
Over the years, SRK has been sidelined, and his image has been unfairly tarnished. In many countries, India is often associated with Shah Rukh Khan—he is a symbol of Indian cinema and soft power worldwide.

Last year he paid a tax of 100 crores after delivering blockbusters like Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki.
Fans have expressed frustration, with one commenting, “The man who has represented India globally and made the country proud only has a Padma Shri? The authenticity of these awards is a joke!”
Another fan added, “SRK, who has made Indian cinema famous worldwide, deserves more than just a Padma Shri. It’s the biggest travesty.”
One popular social media account even suggested, “He should have received the Padma Vibhushan by now, or even the Bharat Ratna.”
The call for greater recognition of SRK as one of India’s greatest treasures continues to grow.
