Dr. Peramsetti Ramesh Babu, a beloved and popular Telugu doctor based in the U.S., tragically died under suspicious circumstances on Friday evening.

Hailing from Menakuru village in Andhra Pradesh’s Tirupati district, Ramesh Babu was reportedly shot in a mysterious incident.

His contributions were vast—he built multiple hospitals across the U.S., provided employment to many, and became a well-known figure in the Tuscaloosa region, where a street was even named after him.

Dr. Ramesh Babu completed his medical education at SV Medical College, Tirupati, before furthering his studies in Jamaica and eventually settling in the U.S. as a renowned doctor. He was married with four children, all of whom are settled in the U.S.

His services during the COVID-19 pandemic earned him multiple awards, and he generously donated to his hometown school and the construction of a Sai Baba temple in his village.

Just days before his death, he attended a relative’s wedding in Naidupeta, Andhra Pradesh, adding to the grief of his loved ones who now mourn his sudden loss.
