Sakshi Ahuja's two children eagerly awaited their summer vacation outing. They had been dreaming of this day since their holidays began. Little did they know that their adventure would take an unexpected turn. The 35-year-old teacher headed for a family vacation was electrocuted at New Delhi railway station Sunday as she reportedly clutched at an electric pole for support in a waterlogged area. Auto and cab drivers rushed to rescue Sakshi Ahuja but she couldn't be saved. Her sister too received a shock in efforts to rescue her. Ahuja's 9-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter, who were standing next to her, were saved just in time. The children were excited as they learned about their mother's plan for a trip to Chandigarh on the Vande Bharat Express. They had been looking forward to experiencing their first train journey, a fascination they had often heard and read about. Early in the morning, the Ahuja family, unaware of the misfortune that awaited them, left for the railway station. Their trip was a spontaneous decision, and Sakshi had wanted to take her loved ones to Himachal as well. Sakshi Ahuja, a former architect turned teacher, was known for her positive outlook and dedication. She taught mathematics and architecture at a private school in east Delhi while managing her household responsibilities. Grief hangs heavy in the air. Relatives and loved ones express shock and frustration at the negligence that led to Sakshi's untimely demise. In a voice filled with sadness, one relative questions the lack of safety measures in the supposed smart city of Delhi.
