Family Dinner Shocker: Valet’s 1.4 Cr Blunder

A family in Bengaluru had their dinner plans ruined after a valet crashed their ₹1.41 crore Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV into a wall, collapsing the structure onto the vehicle. The incident took place at Big BBQ Marathahalli, where the family had gone to dine.

According to an Instagram video shared by nammabengaluroo, the owner was hesitant to hand over the keys, concerned about the high value of their recently purchased electric vehicle.

Despite offering to park it themselves, the valet insisted he could handle it. The owner even noticed a group of valets crowding around the car, which made them uneasy, but they were reassured again.

About 35 minutes later, a restaurant employee informed the family that their car had a scratch. Rushing outside, they discovered the damage was far worse—the EQE had crashed into a wall, causing it to collapse onto the car. By then, the valet and his entire team had fled.

Shockingly, the restaurant denied all responsibility and reportedly remained uncooperative even when police intervened. Many speculate the valet was unfamiliar with the power delivery of electric vehicles and may have treated it like a regular petrol or diesel car, pressing the accelerator too hard.

Valet services at restaurants are often handled by third-party agencies, and in most cases, the hotel or restaurant is not liable for damages under the “owner’s risk” policy.

The car, just five months old, now faces extensive repairs. Insurance won’t cover the expensive paint protection film (PPF), and the resale value of the car has already depreciated.
