Exit Polls: Huge Shock To BJP

As the polling is done, the exit poll results of the Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir assembly elections are out. Shockingly, the BJP may lose power in Haryana and also face a tough situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to various reports, Congress may win 49-55 of the total 90 seats in Haryana whereas BJP would be confined with only 18-32 seats. 67% voter turnout has been registered in Haryana on October 5.

If the exit polls turn out to be true, the 10-year rule of BJP would end in Haryana. BJP won the 2014 and 2019 assembly elections consecutively in the state.

On the other side, Jammu and Kashmir’s assembly polls were held in three phases, September 1, 25 and October 1. It is already known that the state has been under the centre’s rule since 2018.

According to multiple exit poll reports, Congress may just fall short of the 46-seat majority mark in the 90-member house in Jammu and Kashmir, leading to a hung situation.

After the abrogation of Article 370, the BJP had high expectations of gaining power in Jammu and Kashmir. However, the exit poll results suggest they may find themselves in a difficult position.
