Telugu Students USA

The Telugu population has grown significantly in the U.S., especially in recent years, with a flood of Telugu students arriving under the pretext of pursuing higher studies, particularly an MS degree. However, it’s widely known that this degree is often just a gateway to enter America, and the reality is quite different.

A majority of these students prioritize studies less, focusing instead on completing their master’s degree while working part-time jobs until they secure an H1B visa.

Lately, the activities of some of these students have not only brought shame to their parents but have also tarnished the entire student community. Recently, a few girls were caught stealing groceries from shops, with their videos going viral. The most recent incident involved five Telugu students being caught in a prostitution racket, which has been particularly shocking.

These days, it costs anywhere between 30 to 50 lakhs to complete an MS in the U.S., and most students come from middle-class families. Their parents take out loans or mortgage everything they have in the hope of securing a better future for their children, as it is commonly believed that once their child goes to a country like the U.S., they will settle well.

However, the current situation in the U.S. is entirely different. There aren’t many jobs for fresh graduates, and securing an H1B visa is as difficult as hitting the jackpot in a lottery.

But, the stories we hear, along with the embarrassing and illegal activities they engage in, are not only shameful but also deeply concerning. While not all students are involved, a section of them is engaging in nonsensical activities in the U.S., many of which haven’t even made it to the news.

These students are not only jeopardizing their lives, careers, and futures but also bringing shame to everyone involved. It is crucial for parents in India to be strict with their children and keep a close watch on them through relatives or friends once they are in the U.S.
