    Elon Musk’s Brazil battle wages on


    Is Elon’s rumble in the Amazonian jungle on course for a technical knockout? Over the weekend, the Brazilian high court voted to uphold a ban on X that another judge issued the week before for failing to comply with take-down requests. The court will issue fines of up to $9,000 to those who use VPNs to get around that ban. But the debate and drama have not ended there. Mike Masnick over at TechDirt weighs up how the case highlights the complexities of supporting free speech and complying with so-called “hostage laws,” but also how Musk himself, owner of “ExTwitter,” has played different sides depending on what suits him best. Meanwhile, Musk says his satellite communications company Starlink and his other companies have had their assets frozen, as well.
