Sikkim Elections Result 2024 Live:  The early leads on Sunday show that the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) is leading in 22 of the total 32 state assembly seats. While Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang’s wife Krishna Kumari Rai is ahead in Namchi-Singhithang, SKM’s Puran Kumar Gurung leads in Chujachen. Meanwhile, Pawan Kumar Chamling’s Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) leads from 2 seats.

The main contenders include the ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM), aiming for a second consecutive term, and the opposition Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF), seeking to unseat them. Also vying for power are candidates from the BJP, Congress, and Citizen Action Party-Sikkim (CAP-S). Among the 146 contestants vying for seats in the Sikkim elections, prominent figures include CM Prem Singh Tamang, alongside his wife Krishna Kumari Rai, former chief minister Pawan Kumar Chamling, and renowned former Indian footballer Bhaichung Bhutia.

In Sikkim, polls were held to elect 32 members to the State Legislative Assembly. Counting of votes will be conducted for nine seats in Gangtok district, seven in Namchi, five in Pakyong, four each in Soreng and Gyalshing and three in Mangan. In 2019, the SKM ended the 25-year reign of the SDF by securing 17 seats, surpassing the 15 seats won by the Chamling-led party.
