Dwayne Bravo, the legendary cricketer from the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), has revealed how a phone call from MS Dhoni, the captain of CSK, convinced him to stay with the team after his retirement from the IPL.
This revelation comes after CSK won their fifth IPL title in the 2023 season, creating history alongside the Mumbai Indians (MI) as the joint most successful teams in the competition’s history.
At the age of 41, MS Dhoni led CSK in an inspirational manner, displaying excellent tactical decisions that brought out the best in the team. Despite not being favored to win the tournament at the beginning, Dhoni’s leadership, both as a wicket-keeper and with the bat, played a crucial role in their success.
However, the season presented a significant challenge for CSK as it was the first season without Dwayne Bravo since 2011.

It’s worth noting that Bravo is still an active cricketer and recently participated in the Bangladesh Premier League for the Rangpur Riders. He retired from international cricket after the 2021 T20 World Cup and holds the record as the second-highest wicket-taker in IPL history.
