DuckDuckGo Introduces AI Chat, Users Can Anonymously Access ChatGPT, Meta AI, And Other Chatbots; Here’s How To Access It

DuckDuckGo in a blog post announced that the AI chat support four AI chatbot models – Open AI’s ChatGPT 3.5 Turbo, Anthropic’s Claude 3, Haiku, Meta’s Llama 3, and Mistral’s Mixtral 8X7B.

New Delhi: Privacy-focused web browser DuckDuckGo on Thursday unveiled AI chat features to its users where they can anonymously access chatbot models like ChatGPT 3.5 Turbo, Llama 3, Claude 3, and Mixtral 8X7B. The AI chat feature, previously available to selected users in beta access, is now being introduced to all the users of the web browser. The feature will be available for free as well with limited access.

The company in a blog post announced that the AI chat supports four AI chatbot models – Open AI’s ChatGPT 3.5 Turbo, Anthropic’s Claude 3, Haiku, Meta’s Llama 3, and Mistral’s Mixtral 8X7B.

DuckDuckGo, known for its privacy policy, assured its users that the chats are private and will not be used for training of AI models. Moreover, the IP addresses of the users will also not be exposed.

The company claimed that users can remain assured about their privacy as the conversation will remain anonymous just like in beta access. DuckDuckGo said that it has agreements with AI model providers to limit the data usage from users’ prompts. The AI models will not be allowed to use data to develop or improve their models.

How To Use DuckDuckGo’s AI Chat Feature

DuckDuckGo’s AI Chat feature can be accessed through URLs and Shortcuts. Users are provided with four AI models on the homepage of the browser from where they can access any of the chatbots. The chat window has preset prompts such as ‘Get computer help’, ‘Understand a topic’, or ‘Write an email’.

Users can also change the AI model to whom they want to converse with by clicking on the AI model name in the left pane. The users can click the fire button before the text box to close the chat window to end the conversation.

DuckDuckGo plans to add more chat models and browser entry points in the future. It is also working on a paid subscription plan for AI Chat.
