India and Russia have begun settling bilateral foreign trade in rupee, with a few transactions having taken place recently, Financial Express reported. At least a dozen-and-a-half vostro accounts have been opened so far to facilitate the trade in rupee with Russia, Sri Lanka and Mauritius, the report added. Several Southeast Asian, African and Latin American nations are expected to join.
