Djokovic v Zverev live: French Open quarter-final scores and updates

A mistake at the net from Zverev followed by the forehand into the net, then the German’s forehand return goes long.

Three set points for Djokovic. This has been a brilliantly dominant half-hour from the 38-year-old.

And he seals it in style! Djokovic moves in behind the serve and digs out the volley to drop it into the corner.

Zverev faces pressure on 0-30 then goes long on the forehand to bring up two break points.

Another net exchange gets it over the line. Good hands from Djokovic on the volley, Zverev gets a racket to it but it lands long! Djokovic has the double break and will serve for the third set.

Djokovic goes back to the drop shot as he looks to consolidate the break and lands another beauty off his backhand side. The only surprise was he pushed the forehand volley wide after Zverev reached it.

Instead, Djokovic thunders the forehand winner down the line on game point.

A big point on 30-30 on the Zverev serve: Djokovic stays patient, then pulls out the drop shot again and Zverev can’t reach it before the double bounce. What a way to win a 28-shot rally.

Zverev, though, finds a first serve to save the break point. Deuce.

Masterful from Djokovic! From the return, he takes over the point and swarms Zverev at the net to put away the volley.

On the second break point, Zverev blinks – he fires out on the forehand. Big moment.

Zverev looks flustered as he is pulled into the net to chase down another Djokovic drop shot. The Serbian is up to 21 in the match already – which is more than he had in the entirety of his wins in the fourth and third rounds.

Zverev with the love-hold in just 90 seconds. The German was still winning more than 90 per cent of his first-serve points but Djokovic was limiting him to 20 per cent on the second and was able to have many looks at breaks in the second set.

Two holds of serve to get the third set started. It’s 10:20pm in Paris and at this rate midnight would be a safe bet for when we’re finishing. Djokovic shows lovely hands to win another net exchange, after Zverev again does not do enough with the volley.
