Disaster Director Mudassar Aziz: “Audience Lacks Intelligence”

    Director Mudassar Aziz

Filmmaker Mudassar Aziz recently discussed the poor performance of his latest film, Khel Khel Mein, which stars Akshay Kumar. The movie barely made Rs 30 crores at the box office, adding to Akshay Kumar’s recent string of commercial debacles.

In an interview, Mudassar Aziz blamed the film’s lack of success on the audience’s supposed lack of “mental intelligence.”

He claimed that Khel Khel Mein required a certain level of maturity and intelligence that he believes many moviegoers don’t have.

According to Mudassar Aziz, the main audience for Hindi films, people aged 15 to 30, often make movie choices based on factors unrelated to the film’s content, such as whether the movie is marketed as an event.

Aziz also criticized the audience’s ability to understand complex themes, saying that Khel Khel Mein deals with subjects like relationships and orientations that require a higher level of awareness. He argued that the film isn’t just a typical entertainer but is meant to provoke thought.

However, many on social media are criticizing Aziz for his comments, pointing out that films like 12th Fail and Srikanth have been successful and had highly artistic and intellectual content

Critics argue that if Khel Khel Mein had been a good film, it would have performed well even after a slow start as there was no competition from new films for many weeks.

The movie has also been criticized for its content, including references to sensitive topics in a crude manner, such as breast surgery, sperm count, and female escort services. Many feel that the film’s attempt to tackle these issues was poorly executed.

Instead of blaming the audience, Mudassar Aziz should focus on improving his filmmaking skills.

Many believe that Mudassar should concentrate on making a good film instead of blaming the audience’s intelligence for the failure of his disastrous films.
