Director Bala’s Vanangaan, starring Arun Vijay in the lead, is gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release on January 10 as a Pongal special. With only a few days left for the release, Bala is actively promoting his movie through interviews on popular YouTube channels.
In a recent interview, Bala was asked about the acting performances of the lead actors in his films. He praised Suriya and Arya for their dedication to their roles.

However, when the anchor asked about Vikram’s acting performance, Bala paused for a long time before responding, “When you ask about Vikram’s acting, look at me and see how I’m thinking about what to say about his acting; that’s the answer.”
This statement shocked the Kollywood audience, leading to criticism of Bala on social media. Fans speculated that his comment stemmed from unresolved issues between them during the making of Varmaa. The project, an official remake of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Arjun Reddy, was directed by Bala and starred Vikram’s son, Dhruv Vikram.

After the shooting was completed, rumors emerged that Vikram was unhappy with the film’s output. Consequently, the project was shelved and reshot by a different director, eventually being released as Adithya Varma.
In another interview, when Bala was asked about Arjun Reddy, he declined to comment and told the anchor to ask other questions.

It appears that Bala still harbors resentment over the shelving of Varmaa and prefers to avoid discussing Vikram or the project in interviews or public forums.
