Farah Khan’s cook, Dilip, has become a national sensation, thanks to their widely popular YouTube vlogs. With each episode drawing in millions of views, it has quickly become a must-watch for their fans. Choreographer Geeta Kapur, who has worked closely with Farah for years, often assisting on numerous songs, recently spoke about Dilip’s rise to fame during a podcast with Hindi Rush. She credited Farah for the spotlight he’s receiving. “Woh ladka Dilip matlab, uski life ban gayi hai, so she is amazing,” (That boy Dilip, I mean, his life has changed… so she (Farah) is amazing.) Geeta said.
Speaking about how secure and generous Farah has always been, especially in her show, where she always gives Dilip more screen time, Geeta added: “She has always been like that. Kyunki unko lagta hai jo aapke kismat ka hai… jo aapka hai, koi nahi cheen sakta. You will get your due always. Na kum na zyada, jitna aapko milna hai utna hi milega.” (Because she believes that what is written in your destiny… no one can take it away from you. You will always get what you deserve, no less, no more.)
For those unfamiliar, Dilip has also appeared in several commercials alongside Farah and often accompanies her to celebrity guests’ homes to shoot episodes featuring them cooking different dishes. Their on-camera chemistry, often with Farah playfully scolding Dilip and him teasing her back, adds a charming and humorous layer to the show.
In fact, more recently, Dilip shared screen space with Shah Rukh Khan and Kiara Advani in an ad directed by Farah. Earlier this month, Farah also took Dilip on his first-ever international trip. At the Mumbai airport, he was seen joyfully distributing sweets to the paparazzi. Farah’s YouTube channel continues to grow in popularity, currently boasting 1.71 million subscribers.
