Travis Kelce might’ve miscalculated the price of fame when he started dating pop star Taylor Swift. The NFL tight end has been in the tabloids nearly every single day since his high-profile romance with the Cruel Summer singer kicked off in summer 2023, with every move shadowed by paparazzi clicks. For Swift, this has been routine for years, but for Kelce, who’s no stranger to the spotlight himself (three Super Bowl rings, Hall of Fame, 77 touchdowns), it’s still a bit much. On a recent episode of Bussin’ With The Boys, Kelce joked that while he did expect attention, he didn’t exactly sign up for being stalked by cameras while doing regular day-to-day stuff, like playing golf or even trying to use a toilet.
Travis Kelce on the worst part of fame
Appearing on the podcast, the Kansas City Chiefs’ star admitted he didn’t quite grasp how crazy the paparazzi swarm would get. “I’m just playing golf and all of a sudden, in the trees, there’s just a f—ing guy with a camera,” Kelce said. “Like, ah s–t. I gotta go to the restroom now. I can’t just go over here and take a piss.” He added that while he’s not the type to shy away from cracking open a beer in public, when it comes to private moments, it’s another story. “Just don’t want my stuff on Page Six, you know what I mean?” he joked, name-dropping the US tabloid.

Later on the show, Kelce also spoke about his relationship with Swift and how their date nights constantly make headlines. “We’re just enjoying life, having fun being a couple,” he said. “It’s not about the spotlight.” Swift and Kelce have been going strong for nearly two years now, often spotted together at concerts or sports stadiums. One such appearance, during the Stanley Cup, where the Edmonton Oilers beat the Panthers in overtime, got a mention too. He said, “It gets thrown out there like we’re trying to seek attention, but really, we’re just out here living, going to hockey games, kind of easing her into more of the sports world.”
In an earlier podcast, the Chiefs’ tight end had also revealed how he really started falling for Swift after noticing how “self-aware” and “genuine” she is. “It can get crazy with that much attention, but she keeps it chill and cool. I admire that,” he shared.

Later in the interview, Kelce revealed who his dream podcast guest is. For the unversed, when he’s not playing, Kelce and his brother Jason run the New Heights podcast themselves. And while the brothers have already hosted a lineup of high-profile guests like LeBron James and Ben Stiller, Kelce said he still wants Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders on the show—that’s the one. “Man, I want to get Deion Sanders on so bad. I want to talk to him about the football and baseball world that he was in in the late ’80s, early ’90s, and just chop it up,” he said. So yeah, for fans hoping he’d say Taylor, might want to sit this one out. “I played every sport imaginable growing up, and I always wanted to be one of those guys that played both, a two-sport professional athlete,” Kelce added.
