The 2017 film Jab Harry Met Sejal has been one of the films that the director Imtiaz Ali often returns to time and again. He had some big expectations with the project but it did not deliver despite the fame of SRK and his pairing with Anushka Sharma.
When asked in an interview to what extent Shah Rukh Khan altered his approach Imtiaz gave an interesting reply. He said he never had a star of SRK’s scale on his mind while writing the script.

He revealed Shah Rukh never intervened with his vision. It was some shortcomings on his part that did not let his characters sit well with the script.
Although to many fans Jab Harry Met Sejal is an ultimate comfort watch, it couldn’t perform well at the theatres. Even many blamed SRK for altering the script and not letting Imtiaz work freely.

The director busted all these claims and shared that there’s a lot that he could have done differently. He only wishes that his approach aligned with his style so that the film could have tapped the soul of his viewers.
