Kannada industry’s most hyped pan-India film, Martin, directed by AP Arjun and starring Dhruva Sarja, is turning into one of the most disastrous releases of the year.
Despite a big budget of around 100 crores, it has struggled at the box office, particularly in the Hindi version, where it opened with a mere ₹20 lakhs.

The lifetime business of the Hindi version is projected to be around ₹1 crore, a massive underperformance.
The film’s start in India (all languages) was just over ₹6 crores, and it desperately needed a strong jump in collections to pick up momentum.

Unfortunately, not only did that jump not materialize, but there was also a drop in collections, signaling trouble for the makers.
Given the film’s huge budget, this trend is a mind-numbing sign for its overall box office performance.

Martin has been mercilessly trolled for its presentation and subpar VFX work, making it a target of online trolling. The film has turned out to be a huge troll material among audiences.
With the film unlikely to even recover 25% of its budget, Martin could end up being one of the year’s biggest financial flops.
After Indian 2, Martin is the biggest disaster of the year and the most trolled film in recent times. It’s a total washout.
Last year, Upendra’s Kabzaa embarrassed the Kannada industry in front of the whole country and now Martin has worsened the situation.
