Koratala Siva’s Devara: Part 1, starring NTR, Saif Ali Khan, and Janhvi Kapoor, hit theaters on September 27. Despite mixed reviews, the makers claimed it grossed ₹400 crore worldwide.
However, ever since its Netflix debut, social media was flooded with trolls and memes, with users on X (formerly Twitter) pointing out the film’s flaws.

Director Koratala Siva has faced heavy backlash post-OTT release. Interestingly, even some die-hard NTR fans who staunchly defended Devara during its theatrical run are now acknowledging its shortcomings, leading to a wave of memes mocking the shift in perception.
On the other hand, Pushpa 2 has seen a completely different response. Unlike Devara, there’s neither widespread trolling nor overwhelming fan celebrations following its release on Netflix.

OTT audiences seem largely indifferent after watching Pushpa 2. While some have questioned how such a formulaic commercial film managed to rake in ₹2000 crore, most social media discussions have been quiet.
Fans are satisfied with Allu Arjun’s massy avatar despite the lack of a solid story, while trolls haven’t found much to mock, keeping them silent as well.

A few international fan handles attempted to hype certain scenes, but that buzz quickly faded after the initial excitement.
Despite being a massive blockbuster in theaters, Pushpa 2 has received a lukewarm response on OTT. Though viewership numbers are solid, they aren’t groundbreaking.
It appears Pushpa 2 is one of those theatrical blockbusters that won’t have much lasting impact in the streaming space.
