NTR’s solo return to the big screens happened after six long years with Devara and he was fittingly greeted by the masses. The opening day numbers posted by Devara are huge as the film broke even RRR records in certain areas across the Telugu states.
The communication from the makers through the official poster is that the film grossed over Rs 170 crores at the box office.

There are reports that the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana shares reported by the film are in the range of Rs 60 crores which is a huge number. In other mass belts like Tirupati and Anantapur, the opening day tally is next only to RRR.
Aravinda Sametha collected Rs 21 crore share in the Nizam belt in its full run and Devara has broken this tally on the first day itself by collecting over Rs 22 crore share on day 1 which speaks for itself.

The film has firmly punched above its weight in Hindi by clocking Rs 7.5 crore nett which is beyond the expected range of 5-6 crore. If the positive upswing continues in Hindi, then Devara is in for a good run up north which will be crucial for its box-office prospects.
Coming to the USA box office, the film made $2.8M from the premieres which is a solid number. The start of the second day has also been very positive in the USA belt.
