AAP rally, Delhi News Live Updates Today (June 11): Returning to the venue that witnessed the birth of his party, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will lead a rally at Ramlila Maidan today against what the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has termed the “dictatorial ordinance” on the issue of services promulgated by the Centre last month. Inviting citizens to attend it in large numbers for the sake of the Constitution — AAP has claimed that a lakh people are expected to be a part of the ‘maha rally’. The event will begin at 10 am, and Kejriwal is expected to address the gathering at 2 pm. According to senior party leaders, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will also be part of the rally.

In other news, Delhi Legislative Assembly’s Committee on Petitions has accused Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar of giving “bureaucratic patronage” to IAS officer Ashish More, who, it has alleged, is involved in a “land scam”, and has summoned Kumar. Sources from the committee aware of developments in this regard said Divisional Commissioner Ashwani Kumar and More, former Services Secretary, had also been summoned along with the chief secretary on June 15.

Meanwhile, the Delhi government and the L-G Office once again confronted each other on Saturday over credit for a marked improvement in pollution levels of the Yamuna river. Water Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj issued a challenge to the Delhi L-G to present any new projects he had initiated for the river’s cleanliness “claiming credit” for the AAP government’s work, while an L-G House official termed the allegations “petty, self-defeating, and laughable”.
