A man threw his two-year-old son from the balcony of a three-storey house and later jumped off after a heated argument with his wife in Delhi, officials have said.
Both father and the son have been admitted to All India Institute Of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) with serious injuries.
The incident was reported from a slum at Kalkaji in New Delhi last night.
Man Singh and his wife Puja had been living separately for the past few months following a dispute. Puja was currently staying at his grandmother’s home in Kalkaji along with her two children.
Man Singh came to meet them last night when the couple got into a heated argument. In a fit of rage, he took his son to the balcony and threw him 21 feet below to the concrete, police said, adding that he then jumped off.
Puja’s grandmother alleged that Man Singh was under the influence of alcohol.
A case of attempted murder has been registered against Man Singh, police said.
