Deadly Reels Trend Nearly Kills Youth

A recent incident in Farrukhabad’s Kamalganj area once again exposes the sheer recklessness people engage in to chase internet fame.

A young man, attempting a dangerous stunt on a moving train, fell off, barely escaping death thanks to the quick thinking of passengers who pulled the emergency chain. Despite such a close call, the young man got up, reboarded the train, and continued his journey as if nothing had happened.

Such cases are becoming disturbingly common. The desperation to go viral has led people to perform increasingly foolish and life-threatening stunts, disregarding their own safety and that of others.

With social media flooded
with daredevil acts, many young individuals feel the pressure to outdo others, often pushing themselves to dangerous extremes without considering the consequences.

What makes this trend worse is that these reckless acts are often glorified online. Videos of stunts like these rack up thousands of views, inadvertently encouraging others to attempt similar or even riskier challenges.

There needs to be a stronger push for awareness and accountability. Strict action should be taken against those performing life-threatening stunts, and social media platforms must actively discourage such dangerous content. Otherwise, the chase for viral fame will continue to claim lives.
