The Cyberabad Traffic Police recently carried out a strict drunk driving campaign over the weekend. As part of this drive, they caught 315 people for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The authorities seized several vehicles during the operation, which included 233 two-wheelers, 5 three-wheelers, 71 four-wheelers, and 6 heavy vehicles.

Among those caught, 31 drivers had extremely high blood alcohol levels, ranging between 200 mg/100 ml and 500 mg/100 ml. Two individuals had dangerously high levels exceeding 500 mg/100 ml.
All these offenders will now face legal action and will be presented before the court.

The police have issued a strong warning regarding drunk driving. They stated that if anyone drives under the influence and ends up causing an accident that results in someone’s death, they will face serious legal consequences.
Such individuals can be charged under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023. This law treats such incidents as culpable homicide, which is not considered murder but still carries heavy penalties. Offenders can face up to 10 years in jail along with a fine.
