Tumbbad, directed by Rahi Anil Barve, is back in cinemas today. Although the 2018 horror drama didn’t do well at the box office initially, it gained a cult following through satellite and OTT platforms.
This growing fan base is now eagerly anticipating its re-release. The strong advance booking for Tumbbad highlights the excitement around its return.

For its re-release, Tumbbad has already sold 21,000 tickets in top chains like PVR Inox and Cinepolis for the opening day. Specifically, 15,000 tickets were sold at PVR Inox and 6,000 at Cinepolis, with an additional 1,000 tickets sold at MovieMax. This strong advance sale suggests a promising start at the box office.
The film’s original opening in 2018 was Rs 50 lakh, and it ended with a total of Rs 12 crore.

The re-release’s strong start could surpass the original run’s performance, potentially achieving over Rs 3 crore on the first day and aiming for a total of Rs. 8-10 crore over the weekend which will be higher than numbers of big star films like Sarfira, Selfiee, and Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha.
