Chennai Super Kings and MS Dhoni have been virtually inseparable since the inaugural edition of the IPL. But in what could be the last and final season of Dhoni in the IPL, there’s some high drama going on.
CSK appears to be playing an ugly looking tactic to keep ahold of Dhoni for another season. This has become a talking point already.

CSK apparently wants the IPL body and BCCI to consider Dhoni as an uncapped player as it has been five years since he retired from international cricket.
The reason behind this is that CSK will find it easier to retain Dhoni as an uncapped player than as a regular player. This is why they want the IPL body to categorise Dhoni as an uncapped player.

After such a sprawling career and what Dhoni had done for India, regarding him as an uncapped international player would be as odd as it can get.
CSK is using a minor glitch in the technical aspects of the IPL to keep ahold of Dhoni for the coming season of IPL.

But when it comes to retaining a reputed and highly respected player like Dhoni, using technicalities is not a good move. It must be done in a fair and square manner.
