Cristiano Ronaldo ‘tells Al-Nassr to appoint Champions League winner’ as head coach but the Saudi giants ‘reject’ his advice with Stefano Pioli set to join

Cristiano Ronaldo has told Al-Nassr to appoint a legendary manager that he previously won the Champions League with as the club’s next dugout chief, according to reports.

The Saudi Pro League side are again searching for a new head coach after parting company with Luis Castro just 14 months into his tenure at the club.

Al-Nassr are now considering all options available to them with Ronaldo still at the centre of their plans and bosses know the superstar must be happy with the incoming coach to keep him at the club.

Ronaldo’s word carries a lot of weight in the Middle East’s football revolution and he has advised Al-Nassr to appoint French football legend Zinedine Zidane into the vacant coaching role, as reported by The Sun.

The 39-year-old has told club chiefs that Zidane would be the perfect fit to help the club achieve their title ambitions with the club seventh in the Saudi Pro League table after just three matches.

Zidane and Ronaldo previously enjoyed tremendous success together in Madrid, winning three consecutive Champions League crowns and a LaLiga title prior to both leaving the Spanish giants.

The 52-year-old has been out of the management since leaving Madrid three-years ago following a second spell at the club and has been coy on taking up another opportunity.

Manchester United were previously linked with a move for Zidane but the Frenchman rejected the chance to take over at Old Trafford because he doesn’t speak fluent English.

However, despite Ronaldo’s pleads for Al-Nassr to appoint his former boss, the club have rejected the notion and now look set to appoint ex-AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli.

The Italian was previously sacked by Milan in May following a five-year stint at the club and would land himself a huge increased salary by taking the job on offer in Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, Zidane is continuing to hold out for the right opportunity to present itself and won’t be rushed into making a decision that he doesn’t feel matches his ambitions.

Many believe the legendary midfielder is holding out for the France national team job that is currently occupied by Didier Deschamps.
