Kangana Ranaut’s much anticipated project Emergency was all set to release on 6 September, but now it is postponed! Amidst controversies, the film is still waiting for a clearance from Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Kangana Ranaut’s project Emergency deals with many sensitive topics like Emergency, Indira Gandhi’s assassination and Sikh Riots. Many people have condemned the project for being one sided propaganda!

Kangana Ranaut will be seen as writer, director, producer and lead actor of the film. She has been promoting the film extensively but backlashes on her controversial comments have landed her project in trouble. The Sikh community was already frustrated with the project for portraying the community in a negative light as terrorists. The Khalistani references in the film are not acceptable to many Sikh organisations who call for the banning of this film.
While an artist’s impression of history often takes controversial terms when a biographical drama is made, Kangana Ranaut seems to be insensitive to the feelings of the minorities. It seems to be her ongoing vendetta with the Sikhs that is driving her to portray them badly. Even she took to social media to express her tension about the delay and trouble caused in her film’s release. We can expect that CBFC will ask them for a few cuts before Emergency will be given a green flag. This will delay the film’s release a bit further. Stay tuned as we bring you the new release date and further updates.
