Just a day after the third high-profile meeting of the INDIA block in meeting, Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin’s son Udhayanidhi’s remarks has put the alliance in the dock. Udayanidhi’s statement, if it had been delivered in reference to any other religion, would have been considered a hate speech. Yet, not one leader of the INDIA alliance condemned the statement. The most bizarre defence of Udhayanidhi’s statement came from RJD’s Manoj Jha, who brought in Kabir to defend the DMK scion’s outrageous remarks. Similarly, Congress’s Karti Chidambaram defended Stalin’s remarks. No senior Congress leader was ready to criticise Udhayanidhi Stalin.
