The Supreme Court Collegium has stuck to its August 3 decision to recommend the transfer two Andhra Pradesh High Court judges, and rejected their individual requests of reconsideration of transfer proposal or be transferred to neighbouring States of their choice.

In its resolutions passed on Thursday, the Collegium said it found no merit in the requests of the three judges and reiterated its decision of August 3.

The following are the judges who have been recommended for transfer:

- Justice C Manavendranath Roy to Gujarat High Court; and

- Justice Duppala Venkata Ramana to Madhya Pradesh High Court.

In identically-worded resolutions, the Collegium detailed its procedure in making the recommendations, which included inputs from consultee top court judges of the respective parent High Courts, as well as concurrence and no-objection of the Chief Justices of the High Courts concerned.

These resolutions disclosed that Justice Roy is stated to have requested a reconsideration of his proposed transfer.

In the alternative, he requested that he be transferred to the Telangana High Court.

Similarly, Justice Ramana also sought reconsideration of his proposed transfer or to be transferred to the Karnataka High Court.

However, the Collegium did not find any merit in their requests.
