CM Revanth Reddy to be Hydra Chairman

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will be the chairman of Hydra, a project close to his heart.

Hydra commissioner AV Ranganath was addressing the media when he said that Hydra is an on-going process, which will need 5 to 10 years to show visible results. He added a Hydra police station will be started soon.

Ranganath stated that Hydra was working in 2000 sqft as of now. He explained that as Hydra project expands its covered area, one will be able to see distinct changes in the city of Hyderabad.

The commissioner said they have already identified 1025 lakes across the city. He said it was important to work on lakes and parallelly create streams for an easy- flow water network.

The Hydra has already collected satellite data, he revealed. It also has image records taken from survey of India. Drones will also be used to collect data to identify key areas.

However, the commissioner was quick to say that people cannot expect water-logging to stop immediately due to heavy rainfall. People must not assume Hydra doesn’t work, it is a time consuming process he told media.
