Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu reaffirmed his government’s commitment to welfare and development during a pension distribution event in Yalamanda village, Palnadu district, on Tuesday (December 31). Stressing that true welfare lies in uplifting the lives of the poor, he highlighted his vision of a poverty-free society and criticized the previous government for mismanagement and destruction of public trust.
Andhra Pradesh is the only State in India providing pensions to 64 lakh beneficiaries, with each recipient receiving ₹4,000 per month, the Chief Minister pointed out. The distribution system ensures doorstep delivery, with staff to be made accountable for any lapses. “For me, the people are my high command, and I answer only to them,” he said, emphasising transparency and efficiency in governance.
At the event, Mr. Naidu personally visited beneficiaries’ homes. He handed over pensions, made coffee for a family, and instructed officials to provide financial aid for self-employment and housing. “Every beneficiary must receive their pension without any hassle. Any staff member failing to deliver will face immediate action,” he warned.

Restoring Governance and Economy
Reflecting on the challenges of the past, Mr. Naidu remarked: “The previous administration dismantled systems, misused funds, and destroyed opportunities.” He assured citizens that his government was rebuilding the State, citing initiatives like 198 Anna Canteens, GST exemptions for handloom workers, and swift road repairs. Measures are also in place to counter drug abuse and introduce technology, such as drones, in agriculture.
Highlighting the importance of water security, Mr. Naidu shared his government’s plans to interlink rivers, including utilizing surplus Godavari waters to benefit the drought-prone Banakacharla area. The initiative aims to store and transfer water to address drinking, agricultural, and industrial needs and transforming the State’s landscape.
The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to Telugu Desam Party (TDP) workers, acknowledging their unwavering dedication. “We cannot repay the sacrifices made by our party workers. Their efforts have brought us unparalleled success,” he said. Mr. Naidu also offered prayers at the Kodanda Rama temple in Yalamanda, seeking blessings for a prosperous Andhra Pradesh.
