In a recent viral video circulating across social media, a group of women can be seen ‘protesting’ against beards under the banner ‘Remove Beard, Save Love.’
The call for ‘clean-shaven’ boyfriends in the clip reveals how beards have become the latest oppressive symbol of the patriarchy, at least according to some feminists.

The protest saw various slogans like ‘Shave it off, or no love!’, and ‘No Clean Shave, No Love.’
This has led to some serious questions regarding the future validity of moustaches and hairs as well, with people coming forward in support of their bearded comrades!

Social media reactions to this video have been nothing short of hilarious, with people calling it the ‘Smooth Revolution’. One user commented, “What’s their beef with beards? Is this the future of protests?”
“If boys did this, there’d be outrage. But hey, let’s just laugh it off, right?”, added another on a more serious note.

A third user questioned the convenient absence of equality when it comes to the choices of men by saying, “Isn’t this the same as men demanding long hair from women? Equality, anyone?”
Social media has been very outspoken in highlighting the hypocrisy of such protests where if the gender roles were reversed, the matter would turn into a human rights issue.
While the protest did seem to spark humour in people, it also shed light on the key issue of a man’s choices not getting much importance in today’s world.
