Citroen eC3 as mentioned above is brand’s first electric car for the Indian market. The electric version is based on the ICE version which was launched in the market last year. In terms of design, both ICE and the electric version of the hatchbacks look the same. Both the cars get the Chevron logo which acts as a part of the front grille. Unlike many other EVs that we have in India, the eC3 does not get a closed grille or a different-looking front fascia from the petrol version. The only differentiating thing on the outside are the eC3 badges on the fender and the tailgate and the charging port is placed on the front right fender.

From the start, Citroen had developed the C3 platform with an aim to make it compatible for an EV. That is one of the reason why C3 has the longest wheelbase in the segment. The long wheelbase of the C3 helped the brand to place the battery under the chassis neatly without taking up any space in the boot. Just like the exterior, interior of the car also looks the same as before. The car however now gets manual day/night IRVMs. The ORVMs cannot be adjusted electrically and the AC is also a manual unit. The car gets monochrome instrument cluster, which is the same as ICE version. The information on the display has been customised for the EV.

Citroen is also offering connected car features using MyCitroen Connect application. Citroen eC3 is powered by a 29.2 kWh battery pack. The electric motor on this hatchback generates 57 Bhp and 143 Nm of peak torque. The hatchback has a top speed of 107 kmph and it can do 0-60 kmph in 6.8 seconds. The car offers a claimed range of 320 km.

Citroen is offering a 7-year or 1,40,000 km warranty on the battery pack, 5 years or 1,00,000 km warranty on the electric motor and a 3-year or 1,25,000 km warranty on the car itself. The car would start reaching the dealership next month and it would compete with the likes of Tata Tiago EV in the segment.
