Citibank Credit Card migration to take place by July 15: Know new names of your Axis Bank cards

The migration of Citibank credit cards to Axis Bank is expected to be completed by July 15, 2024. This transition follows Axis Bank’s acquisition of Citibank India’s consumer businesses and its non-banking finance arm, which began on March 1, 2023, for a total of ₹11,603 crore.

Until customers receive their new Axis Bank cards (expected by the end of the year), existing Citibank-branded cards will continue to function seamlessly.

    New credit card names

As part of the migration, existing Citibank credit cards will be rebranded under Axis Bank with the following new names:

Citi Rewards Credit Card → Axis Bank REWARDS Credit Card

IndianOil Citi Credit Card → INDIANOIL AXIS BANK PREMIUM Credit Card

Citi PremierMiles Credit Card → Axis Bank HORIZON Credit Card

Citi Cash Back Credit Card → Axis Bank CASHBACK Credit Card

First Citizen Citi Credit Card → AXIS BANK SHOPPERS STOP Credit Card

IKEA Family Credit Card by Citi → IKEA Family Credit Card by Axis Bank

    Other details

All unredeemed points as of the migration date will be converted into Axis EDGE REWARD Points or EDGE Miles, as per Axis Bank website.

Points earned until the migration date will retain their never-expiring status.

However, points earned post-migration will have an expiration period of three years.

Post-migration, customers will retain access to their historical credit card transactions and statements:

Historical statements for the past 18 months will be accessible through the Axis Bank Mobile Banking App and internet banking platform.

However, changes in fees and charges might occur with the migration to Axis Bank.
