Tragedy struck near Sankari in Tamil Nadu's Salem district as a minivan, carrying six passengers including a young girl, collided with a parked truck, resulting in six fatalities and two injuries. The victims were identified, mostly from Harijan Colony in Erode district, and included a one-year-old girl. The accident occurred as the family was returning after a separation attempt between a couple. Investigations are ongoing, and the injured were taken to a hospital while the deceased were sent for postmortem examinations. The incident has left the community in mourning and shock.
