A Telugu dubbed version could have meant packed houses in Hyderabad and beyond. Films like Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy and RRR proved how much Telugu audience love historical epics.
If Chhaava had done that, it could have added another ₹50-100 cr. Instead makers lost both revenue and goodwill.

There’s talk that Chhaava will be dubbed in Telugu for OTT release. But here’s the problem—OTT dubs are rarely done with the same quality and attention as theatrical releases.
Instead of a professional and well crafted Telugu version, it will be a rushed job to “tick the box”. Wouldn’t it be smarter to invest in a proper theatrical dub from the start?
Bollywood keeps pushing the “pan-India” narrative but fails to acknowledge South properly. If Chhaava was released in Telugu it would have been celebrated not sidelined.
Now Telugu fans will get the film but not the way they deserved. A big lesson for Bollywood respect works both ways.
