Bollywood is seeing a box office shift. If Chhaava and Stree 2, without high-octane action, can cross ₹480-850 crore worldwide, what happens when a biggie like War 2 comes in?
With Hrithik Roshan, Jr. NTR and YRF Spy Universe behind it, expectations are massive. But can it really hit ₹1000 crore in India? The numbers suggest it can.

Audiences are splurging on event films. According to box office experts Chhaava has grossed ₹483 crore worldwide, ₹413 crore from India. Stree 2 has gone past ₹857 crore globally, ₹713 crore from India.
These films, without action, are breaking records. With War 2 having franchise power and superstar appeal, the numbers are huge.

A sequel to War (₹318 crore Hindi net), this film marks Hrithik Roshan’s return to action mode, now joined by Jr. NTR whose RRR has expanded his reach across India.

With August 14, 2025 release, War 2 is perfectly poised to capitalise on the Independence Day holiday and open big.
If War 2 delivers on action and story, ₹1000 crore in India is a real possibility. A big opening, good word-of-mouth and sustained momentum will be key.
Hindi version can target ₹600+ crore if it performs like Pathaan, while Jr. NTR ensures a huge Telugu market. If Telugu version also opens well, it can break records.
Chhaava and Stree 2 have proved that audiences are willing to pay for big-screen experiences. War 2 has all the ingredients to go bigger than that.
If both Hindi and Telugu versions work, it can become India’s next ₹1000 crore film. August 2025 might just see India’s biggest box office ever.
