ChatGPT, OpenAI’s popular AI powered chatbot is currently inaccessible for many.
ChatGPT, the free-to-use AI chatbot that took the world by storm since its launch in 2022 is reportedly down or not working for many. While some say the website is not accessible, others say they are unable to generate responses. When we tried to access the service on the desktop, the AI chatbot did not let us input any prompts and showed a red text message that said ‘Internal Server Error’.
According to Downdetector, the website that tracks the online status of various services, the outage started somewhere around 1 PM IST. Even OpenAI’s status page suggests that ChatGPT is unavailable for some users and that they are currently investigating the issue.

Soon after its launch in late 2022, the chatbot skyrocketed in popularity and had more 100 million users in just two months.
This is the second time, ChatGPT is facing a downtime this year. On February 14, the chatbot suffered a massive outage worldwide. The outage started 8:00 PM IST and it lasted up to around 10:30 PM.
